INTERCEPTOR CENTRE CAP INSTALLATION GUIDE
INTERCEPTOR CENTRE CAP INSTALLATION GUIDE
IMPORTANT
DO NOT USE A RATTLE GUN OR IMPACT GUN.
If your vehicle runs 14mm or larger studs, you MUST remove the tabs from the back of the cap before installation.
Failure to do this may crack or damage the cap.
STEP 1 — CHECK YOUR VEHICLE
Some vehicles use 14mm or larger wheel studs which can interfere with the tabs on the back of the centre cap.
If your studs contact the tabs during installation, the tabs must be removed before fitting the cap.
STEP 2 — REMOVE THE TABS (ONLY IF NEEDED)
Tools Required
Side cutters
Knife or grinder
Preparation
1. Turn the cap over and inspect the back
2. Locate the three plastic tabs near the stud holes
3. Carefully remove all three tabs
4. Ensure the surface is smooth and free from remaining plastic
Check Fitment
Confirm:
• All three tabs are completely removed
• No material is contacting the studs
• The cap sits evenly on the wheel
STEP 3 — INSTALL THE CAP
Required
60-degree tapered wheel nuts
Wheel brace or ratchet
Torque wrench
Stage 1 — Positioning
Place the cap onto the wheel and hand-tighten the wheel nuts while ensuring the cap remains centred.
Stage 2 — Tightening
Tighten the wheel nuts evenly using a star (cross) pattern.
Stage 3 — Final Torque
Torque all wheel nuts to your vehicle manufacturer’s specifications using a torque wrench.
TROUBLESHOOTING
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| Cap flexing during tightening | Stop immediately, loosen all nuts, re-centre the cap, and tighten evenly again. |
| Cap not sitting correctly | Remove the cap and ensure all tabs have been completely removed. Remove any remaining material and reinstall. |
IMPORTANT NOTES
• Re-tighten wheel nuts after the first 100km
• Periodically check wheel nut tightness during regular maintenance
• If something does not feel correct during installation, stop and inspect before continuing
POLICY NOTICE
No returns on fitted or damaged items.
Damage caused by incorrect installation is not covered.
